On Tuesday,23 October 2018, Houthi terrorist militia kidnapped three journalists in Hodeidah city

 

Local sources told «2December Agency» , that Houthi militias  kidnapped the journalists «Mohammed al-Misri, Mohammed al-Salahi, and Bilal Arifi» after tracking them to a shop on the airport street in the city and took them to an unknown destination

 

The arrest of the three journalists is caused the horrible conduct  of the Houthi terror militias by their violations against journalists, activists and politicians in areas located under their control

 

Human rights institutions and civil society organizations concerned with press freedom   monitor widespread and repeated violations against journalists in the capital Sana'a and areas located under the control of Houthi militia supported by Iran

 

In a recent report, the Committee to Protect Journalists documented kidnappings, assaults, arson, and lawsuits and has been killed since the Houthi militia coup and its takeover of power in the end of 2014

 

Journalists reported that they could not operate safely in Huthi-controlled areas and were forced to exercise self-censorship in order to maintain their safety and security

 

According to the Yemeni Journalists' Syndicate, since the beginning of  2018, the number of violations agaonst journalists has reached 100 cases, including 38 cases of kidnapping and detention, 18 cases of assault, 9 cases of denial of coverage, 8 cases of intimidation, 5 cases of trial and a case of torture.  journalist's and newspaper's materials and were confiscated five times, five cases of journalists were killed, seven cases of blocking sites, and two cases of media were suspended
